We'll be doing kermesse racing and an Interclub stage race.  A kermesse is a race very similar to that of a circuit race in America.  These races are multiple laps or "rondes" of usually 5km to 15km loops.  Generally they are about 2 hours in length with a set lap amount at the start.  These races are rolling closures of the road.  This means the whole road will be for the race, and you are allowed to use the sidewalks if you want.  There is road furniture and sometimes even cars that are pulled over to the side.  You have to stay alert!

You will come to the race and sign up there.  Usually in a bar.  You will have to show them an international licence and a calendar card (and sometimes another card depending on the promoter.  They will let you buy one that day if needed...  It doesn't cost much).  The races are about 15 Euro and you will get some of it back at the end when you return your bib and frame number.

The race will leave and laps will be counted down.  They are fast pace races.  Positioning is important to save energy.  There are no wheel trucks or support at these events so if you flat you are done.  These are considered individual events.  Because of this there is no team support.
